Richard was so kind and caring at a really difficult time for our family. The gentle care that was given to my husband was really appreciated. The attention to detail and suggestions put forward to make the service go well, were gratefully received.

Sadly we lost my father in law in December, so we contacted Charles Stephen’s rock ferry as my father in law chose them in his funeral pre paid plan. Nothing was too much as they took over everything, we had 1st class service from all at Charles Stephen’s, they were there at the end of the phone or an email at all times.Richard B. was our funeral director he explained everything, he was there for all our questions and advice needed. The day of the funeral it all run smoothly , the cars are beautiful, the service was outstanding, as I said before 1st class service. I would Definitley recommend to use Charles Stephen’s as there funeral directors as they gave us peace of mind at this very sad time, knowing it was all taken care of, we put our complete trust in them, I can’t thank everyone enough at C.S. for going out there way and providing a brilliant service. thank you .

Excellent, friendly service

Thank you to all the staff at Charles Stephens for the professional and caring way you organised the funeral of my mother Sally Rawsthorne in October 2025.
Everything regarding it went smoothly and efficiently. Richard was always available to help or advise with the arrangement whilst remaining very supportive at this difficult time. All the staff we met were courteous, respectful and polite and gave us a very personal service.

Both my parents were looked after so well at Charles Stephen’s Bromborough office. My Mum in 2020 and Dad just recently in November 2025. Anna at the Bromborough branch was wonderful. From our first meeting, to making all the arrangements we required. She is friendly, courteous and respectful. On the day Rachael and the team were so professional. Again they were courteous and respectful. Carol Mitchell our Celebrant was equally wonderful. She came to our home in Liverpool and did a lovely job of taking our description of Dad and giving a beautiful Eulogy of him. Everything went so smoothly for which we are extremely grateful. I cannot thank the team enough for making a sad day into a fitting celebration of Dads life.

Thank you for everything that you did to care for my wife and indeed myself and my family. From the start we were treated with compassion and respect in a calm, professional and efficient manner. At no point did we feel rushed to make decisions and we always felt supported.
What could have been extremely stressful was turned into a much more pleasant experience than I was expecting. Thank you Diane: I am very grateful. Each time I visited I was always treated with kindness, sympathy and a caring listening ear.
The day of the service could not have gone any better; that is so important. The staff were punctual, respectful efficient and caring. We did not feel at all rushed and we felt from the start that they knew exactly what they were doing. They were never invasive but always there to guide us.

The team at Charles Stephens provided an exceptional level of care from start to finish. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the service, and both Richard and Anna were incredibly sensitive, supportive, and professional throughout. We used them for Dads funeral over 30 years ago and now for Mums and it could not have been better.

The cars were immaculate, the staff uniforms were flawless, and the entire team conducted themselves with dignity and respect. Their thoughtful guidance made a difficult time more manageable, and we are truly grateful.

After my Dad had passed away early hours on a Saturday morning, I was in a complete daze and heartbroken. One call to Charles Stephen’s ( even at the weekend ) was all it took to get my Dad looked after . I am so grateful it was Phil who answered the call and led me through the process. Phil was amazing and made me feel comfortable and supportive in a terrible time . The whole outstanding service that my Dad received was flawless they treated him with dignity and respect honouring the tradition values held by my Dad .
The additional touches that were available gave me great comfort. I felt that during this time I had a someone that offered guidance. It really was as simple as one call and Phil navigated the whole process. I will always be Thankful for the way my Dear Dad was looked after .

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team for our loved one's funeral a few weeks back - it was such a difficult and emotional day, but the service from Charles Stephens was exceptional and really made a challenging day very smooth for us. Thank you for everything the team has done to help us at this distressing time; we are so appreciative.

We were looked after wonderfully by Anna and the team from start to finish. We were walked through how we wanted the day to run through to assistance with the managing of pall bearers undertaken by family members.

This is the second time we have used Charles Stephens and would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Very professional.

I am assuming that funerals are tailored to the individual. Charles Stephens FD fulfilled that brief perfectly. We knew we didn't want to go down the crematoria route, nor church. That really wasn't who dad was. The answer was provided simply by CS being a short service in their private chapel with a celebrant leading the proceedings. We were not limited by time constraints. The room in Rock Ferry was bright and airy with access to the TV screen for photographs. Music was upbeat and seating for roughly forty people. All very professional and dignified.
Charles Stephens (Phil Brady) handled everything expertly and enabled what could have been a sad day into a celebration of dad's life. Several 'mourners' commented on how much they liked the service and it provided them with 'food for thought'.

I can't praise Charles Stephens enough for arranging every aspect of my late mum's funeral. From initial contact to the funeral itself they made everything easy. There were extremely helpful, empathic, respectful and kind. They also provided gentle advice and answered all communications immediately and so alleviated any anxieties I had at such a sad and daunting time. I wholeheartedly recommend them. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the team.
