So sorry to hear of Paul’s passing .
Both David and I worked with Paul at Plymyard nursery back in the 60’s and early 70’s. before emigrating to Canada.
It was a pleasure knowing Paul and yes he was a kind and gentle man.
Paul and Norma moved next door to us in Brookhurst Ave and I remember their beagle dog which our daughter loved.
Then the proud moment came when you where born John .
We enjoyed the friendship of your Mum and Dad.
Dave and I remember when your Dad wonted to learn how to swim, the 3 of use would jump into your dads mini car , race down to New Ferry baths in our lunch break swim for 30 minutes and then race back to work. Your Dad learnt to swim and within one summer became a proficient swimmer.
We kept in touch over the years until Paul went into the nursing home and then Billy Lee kept us informed .
Deepest sympathy to you and your family .

So sorry to hear about Paul.
Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Hilary Ash

I first met Paul when he worked on Wirral parks, especially Eastham. Later we used to meet around the locla shops and stop for a chat (never a short chat with Paul!). Paul used to come to some events at church, like our Christmas fair, and gave us a bronze bell from his collection to ring to announce the arrival of Father Christmas. Latterly I visited him at home until he had to go into care. He was always interesting to talk to and had questions to ask me, usually about the natural world. It was sad to see him get so disabled and I am glad he is now at rest.
