A fine man who will be greatly missed. Dedicated, sincere, conscientious, kind and funny. I am grateful that Rob was a big part of my life and the world is a lesser place without him. Rest well Rob, you’ll never walk alone.

Rob Jones

Known as the two Robs often found together at buffets at parties. Despite being connoisseurs we continued to make the mistake of having one last sandwich which made us feel rough the next day, nothing to do with the copious amounts of beer we had consumed. You helped me to purchase a share in LFC which led to us sharing many football adventures together. Your organisation meant we had a great time win or lose. After a last sandwich in Basel which meant we almost missed our plane, we changed tact and tried the local cuisine on our last trips. Chicken Kiev at Kiev airport and Tapas in a Madrid square washed down with sangria are two of my most cherished memories. Thank you Rob for being a part of my life it was an honour and a pleasure to call you a friend. I will miss you at any future finals but am sure that you will be watching from above and any lightning bolts will actually be the flash from your camera taking hundreds of pictures. RIP mate YNWA.

Mike Fairclough

Anne & Martin

We will remember Rob as a lovely gentle man, a warm, generous and welcoming host, the proudest of dads. May he rest in peace.

Mel, Russ, Josh and Jake Blackhurst

Rob was such a gentle, amusing, vibrant and kind person. We have so many amazing memories of Rob and we are extremely grateful that we knew him for over 30 years. ” Only me!” we will always remember Rob as the life and soul of any party. He and Russ would often stay up late into the night singing (very badly) Knock, knock, knocking on heaven’s door!
As a foursome we shared so many badminton and tennis games (Rob’s wicked drop shot got us every time!) as well as brilliant fun weekends, England football matches, dinners and New Years together. Occasionally, we even got him out in his ancient walking boots!
To Josh (as his Godfather) and Jake he was someone genuinely interested in them as they have grown into young men and the live Liverpool games watched together are also etched in their memory.
Linda, Ella and Nina our hearts go out to you and our thoughts will always be with you. If you ever need someone to talk to please call us anytime. Lots of love and hugs, the Blackhursts xxx

Siobhan & Simon Reading

My memories of a loving, kind hearted, funny gentleman. Reliving all our yesterdays Rob, back in the day pre children when you and Linda had the best dinner parties and only let us go home when the birds were singing. Our chats in work about the girls progress and the shannangins at the Christmas parties. Such a sad loss for all , good night god bless Rob xxx

Rebecca, Phil and family xx

Dear Linda, Ella and Nina,
Treasured memories of a wonderful friend with common interests of Pink Floyd and football both of which we enjoyed together, despite me supporting the wrong red team.
I so enjoyed presenting Rob’s birthday bottle in the same Man United gift bag each year as I knew he would return it (the bag not the bottle), not wanting it in the house!
Such a kind and gentle person, with a terrific sense of humour … sadly missed and never forgotten.
Much love to all of you from Rebecca, Phil and family xx
