Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts. Christine you were such a person. We are so glad that you were part of our lives for over 30 years and that we have many happy memories of fun times together – not least of our California adventure in your 60th year. You left before the story was finished; sleep tight til we meet again xx

A life well lived and taken far too soon.
Christine and I met through a chance meeting with my mum at a Guiding event. She came home and said she had met a lovely young lady, very confident and self assured, was sure we get on very well and even better she was going to Bradford doing the same course as me. I remember her saying she will go a long way that girl and how right she was. We met up before hand and that was the start of a long frienship.
Christine always had time for everyone, no matter what she had going on herself. She will be missed by so many people in all walks of life. I feel vey privileged to have had Christine’s friendship
My heartfelt sympathy to John,Robert and all her family.

Debra & Isabel Millican

I first met Christine at a County Weekend at Waddow not long after she moved to Neston. Spent many an evening with her at various events including Centenary Camp at Harewood House in 2010 and Adventures in Copenhagen. She was also our Optician and that’s where Isabel first met her. Grateful to Christine and Chris for ‘adopting’ Isabel and her friends so that they could attend Wellies and Wristbands as Rangers and for all her advice and support over the years.
Christine – you will be sorely missed. My love to John and Robert on this sad day.
Till we meet again at the Trefoil Guild in the sky.
Deb and Isabel xx

I met Christine at Bradford College, as a 16 year old the majority of my class were much older than myself and it felt a little daunting to be part of it. However, with the help of a select few namely Christine and Fiona I was made part of the group and enjoyed my time there. I was saddened when I learnt of Christine’s passing and would like to send my hearts felt condolences to her family and friends.

Sian Hull

All the Hull family send their thoughts and prayers to all Christine’s family. We have watched your lovely celebration of Christine’s remarkable life, which brought back many happy memories of the times we spent together. She was much loved and will be very much missed by many people.

Such a lovely person who inspired me to go to Wellies and Wristbands one year and been going ever since. A true Guiding Sister.

Janet and Pete Walters

Christine was like the flower that lit up the room and other people’s lives. We are privileged to have known her. She will be sadly missed so very much.
Today we learned the meaning of her name and how she had grown into it.
Now sadly like the flowers, her strength has left her; her strength has not gone but remains within your memories, where she will always be with you.

Your friends Janet and Pete Walters,
here to help and listen as best we can xx

Christine was a woman who made an amazing difference. She was helpful, she was kind and she was a ‘do-er’. She was a great support to me whilst I was Girlguiding Wirral County Commissioner as only someone who had previously been in a County Commissioners role could be. I enjoyed her company and directness. I miss her already. What a loss to your family and to us all. She will be remembered, but particularly on World Thinking Day each year. Thinking of John, Rob and all the family at this sad time, but remembering the light she brought into a room and particularly the Girlguiding world. Linda

Taken far too soon. You will be so very missed x

Heather Danks

I’m so sorry for your loss. Christine was a great lady who helped me become the woman I am today. I have so many memories from guides, her training me to being her young leader, then on to training me to become a leader along side her. She helped with my confidence so much from being quite a shy person to having to take charge when needed. She was always there when I needed someone to talk to especially when my mum was going though all her cancer removal and treatment. I don’t thinking guiding events will be quite the same or the diversion without her. Sending you all my love. Heather xx

Gemma Rowley

Christine was one of those people put on this earth to show us how life should be done, and I feel privileged to have known her. She was a dear friend and outstanding professional colleague, who was the bedrock behind so many General Optical Council visits. There was nothing she did not know about her profession, she cared deeply about her colleagues and students everywhere, and, of course, her patients. God bless you Christine and give comfort to all your family and loved ones.

Jean Paterson-Barclay

Christine was a true friend always willing to listen and give advice. Although I only knew her for a relatively short time I am thankful for the time I had. Rest in peace

Carol Williams

Thinking of you all at this incredibly sad time. It was such a beautiful service and a lovely celebration of Christine’s life and Todd Crag is such a beautiful resting place.
Christine was thoughtful, kind and generous with her time and was always someone I could rely on for her contributions, leadership and dedication in Hinderton Division. We had some fun Guide camps and holidays abroad over the years at Hadlow and Waddow, Amsterdam and Copenhagen which I will remember with fondness.
Christine will be so very sadly missed. Thinking of you all xx
